As part of the Risk Change project, the journalist Barbara Matejčić, and a sociologist from the Institute for Migration and Ethnic Studies, Drago Župarić-Iljić, held a lecture on the research of migration conducted in Rijeka in 2017.
The research tried to answer the question of whether Rijeka is a multicultural and open city, and the citizens of Rijeka are tolerant and willing to welcome foreigners, minorities, migrants and refugees into their community; and also what kind of place to live in is Rijeka, in the eyes of immigrants and returnees.
Also, in the Gallery ‘Student Cultural Centre’ a participatory art-research project was presented by visual artist Lara Badurina under name “Kraj o liku/idemo doma” via live-stream from Argentina. At the end of the evening, visitors had the opportunity to taste traditional dishes made by Gisele Echeverrie from Venezuela and Dionne Hosang from Trinidad and Tobago. DJ Sun Matt took care of the entire musical ambience.
