Desk research (1.7.2016 – 30.4.2017)

With “Desk Research” we mean a keyword led search through internet, databases of journals, books, book sections and grey literature (project reports, policy documents) on migration and migration and policy in Europe as well as services, connected with migrants and migrations with practice examples of educational and cultural integration opportunities in the partner countries. The objective of the desk research is to provide deliverables to other WPs and to assess the contents for preliminary publication of quantitative research results. Desk research will identify migration centers and other simmilar organizations / institutions / facilities dealing with migrants and issues of migration.

This includes research about educational programs, language trainings, cultural integration activities and other services in each country for migrants, collecting the main integration / refugee / migration centers in a list, collecting national and local policy documents dealing with migration related policies and extracting their main purposes as well as collect cultural / non-formal / tailor-made trainings and educational services for migrants in each country.

The desk research will be done in a key word led search via libraries, professional networks and internet using keywords such as:

  • Migraton, research, human rights, multcultural society, integraton, interdisciplinary,
  • Audience development, informal educaton, lifelong learning, intangible cultural heritage
  • Creatvity, Innovatve environment and tools, New creatve models
  • Training for migrants or migration related educational formal and non-formal programs migration policies
  • Migration policy documents
  • Centers for migrants
  • Support services for migrants or related to migration topics

Texts included in the research are selected by each partner, based on migration or migration-related issues they are going to research.

Target groups are:

  • local migrant communities
  • ex-Yugoslavia migrants, war refugees from 90’s, connected to Maribor and Sarajevo
  • Algerian migrants in multicultural communities in Marseille
  • multicultural mixed communities in Leicester
  • multicultural communities and detention centers in Malta
  • transitory migrations in Novi Sad and Rijeka
  • members of national Stakeholders’ Committees
  • local and national scientifc bodies (institutes, faculties etc.)

All this information from all countries will blend into the Preliminary Research Report and will be summarized by ACE KIBLA.
