ACE KIBLA / Kiblix 2018

Arduino workshop
Participants learn about the Arduino system and how to use it for programming. They perform exercises in measuring light, using a LCD display, working with switches and LEDs. They also learn to use the ultrasonic sensor for distance measurement, and to plan and code a software solution for a given task.

The basics of multimedia
Participants learn about the basics of working with a (film) camera. Led by the mentor, they create a test recording. They also learn about the basics of software used to edit a video product. Their recordings and photographs are combined into a short video, and textual information is added. The workshop also discusses drones and the way they are used in video production, as well as the limitations of working with drones.

Arduino light effects
Participants can check out, or try out, light effects created using the Arduino system. The system in the workshop consists of an Arduino mega 2560 processing platform, a foil keyboard, a LCD screen, and a strip of LED diodes. By pressing the keyboard, participants select the effect shown in the diodes, and control the speed, number of diodes, and the color of the effect.
