The exhibition of works by Miran Mišo Hochstätter aka Maestro features a newly created series of digital photographs. Because of the effects of light and shadows, the images created in the photographs appear as though they are subtly merging man and landscape into a unified, Arcadian whole. Et in Arcadia ego, Virgil’s epitaph marking Hochstätter’s photographs like a classic memento mori, acts first as a reminder of the transient nature of life, yet at the same time it idealizes that same kind of life into a blissful pastoral paradise, a symbol of complete and attainable happiness.
