Museum of Modern and Contemporary Art in Rijeka invites all interested individuals for conducting field research within the EU project RISK CHANGE(June 1th, 2016 – May 31st, 2020). The research will be conducted in the city of Rijeka and the surrounding area, from October 2016 until the end of June 2017.
Within the RISK CHANGE project we are dealing with migration processes as actual social phenomenon that place us at the intersection of the local and global crisis, marked with the changes of demographic positive and negative fluxes. During four years we will work on creating, connecting, comparing and dissemination of European interdisciplinary and contemporary art, social studies, applied sciences, and local initiatives with the goal of supporting of cultural diversity connected with actual migration processes and continuous social and demographic changes.
Project activities – art residencies, exhibitions, lectures, symposiums, educational programs, workshops, touring residencies, open labs and mobile application – are directed to development of inovative approaches in cultural and art production, strengthening of social and cultural integration, and audience involvement in creative processes. Through interdisciplinary approach to art, culture, science and ICT technology we are focusing on factors of change and excess, in broader sense defined with exceeding of authority, crossing of regular border, transgression of regulation or particular measure. By gathering different artistic, theoretical and practical contributions which adress today’s excessive state, the project arises as the polygon for controlling of everyday risk.
