Štefan Kovač Marko Band (ŠKM Band)
TOMORROW Musical Cycle
KIBLA Wednesday, 12 August 2020 at 8 p. m., MMC KIBLA

You are cordially invited to the MMC KIBLA on Wednesday, 12 August, to indulge in the sweet, sweet sounds of Prekmurje’s own ŠKM Band.

The ŠKM Band from Beltinci needs no introduction. After a 15-year run, having released four extraordinary records and continued to perfect the ebb and flow of their own post-jazz musical reality, in 2019 the magical trio graced us with another, their fifth, creation. If their fourth album Panontikon, “one of the most important Slovenian musical highlights of the decade” (Mladina, Gregor Kocijančič), took its listeners on a journey through their ethnographic soundscape, the quartet has recently gone partly back to its roots and a rawer, rock n’ roll sound.

The ŠKM Band is a post-jazz quartet that has, however, recently come to adopt a more aggressive approach to composing, playfully intertwining guitar noise with powerful sound barriers. For people of refined tastes!
