Risk Change: art residency in Maribor
Maribor, KIBLA, 12 – 22 November 2017

As part of the international project Risk Change, in collaboration with the Museum of Contemporary Art Vojvodina (MSUV, Novi Sad, Serbia) and ACE KIBLA from Maribor, an art residency took place in Maribor between 12 and 22 November 2017, hosting the artistic collective diSTRUKTURA.

During the time of the residency, the annual KIBLIX 2017 festival and the opening of the exhibition Shelters of Babylon were held in Maribor. The program featured a series of events, including artist talks with artists like Petra Kapš, Simon Macuh, Borut Popenko, and others, and discussions with curators from Maribor and Ljubljana (Miha Colner, Nina Jeza, Aleksandra Kostič).

The residency also included a visit to Ljubljana and Graz, with the aim of collecting materials for a project on the topic of emigrants, which has been developed by diSTRUKTURA since 2013. The created wall mural installation is dedicated to the daily migrants traveling between Maribor and Graz, and will be set up in Serbia.
